Valet Around Gloucester

Hi,

My car has the swirls made by the dreaded automatic car wash. Ideally I want to get rid of this and wondered if anyone could recommend anywhere around the Gloucester area. I've been told that machine polishing will get rid of the swirls but wondered if there was any downside to this?

Also what is the best way to keep it swirl free? I was thinking of only hand washing it after it was done - is this the best way? What products would you recommend? Are shammys okay to use?

Thanks!

M.

Car Phone Fitment

Good evening Rav Folk,

I am looking for a recommended fitter of car phones in the Greater Glasgow (preferably North side). I am no expert, but have had some woeful conversations recently from friends with "parrots in the car", and even some supposedly superior Bluetooth applications are like chatting to Pinky and Perky.
I have previously always had company cars with good "hardwired" handsfree systems, but am open to recommendations from those in the know.
No longer have the daft company budget to spend £400.00 on a 45 minute installation though........

Thanks in advance as usual,

Big Kev

Hello All!
I just put a new clutch in my 'C' Reg, Mk1 MR2. What a doddle!! Subsequently, reverse gear has gone AWOL. All the other gears are there, but reverse. Its gone! I dont know where. It was there when i started, where could it have gone? I've only got forward gears. When i go to select reverse, i get 4th, although to be honest it feels a bit wrong. Can't feel the gate to reverse, although the position seems to be there. Its like i got 6 forward gears.
Anyone know whats going on here?

Happy - So Far

Just been checking my fuel economy stats over the last few weeks since I started working my car for my job. Overall I am well pleased. The last vehicle used by me for work was a Mercedes Vito Eurocab which being a large vehicle only managed an average of 26mpg. The Prius is coming in a 49.6mpg over the last couple weeks, which is almost double!

Granted the Prius is much smaller than a Mercedes Vito, but it earns me the same amount of money each day for half the amount of fuel! Now that's what I call a result, let alone the fact that I am now pumping a lot less CO2 and a heck of a lot less soot (PM10s) into my towns air.

I have added a few months worth of figures to my 'Fuelly' stats for the Vito which is how I got the 26 mpg figure. Click the Fuelly icon below to check out the stats to compare if you like.
