Jap Meet, 12th December Camberley

Hi guys, i hope this is in the right place.

I am organsing a meet on the 12th december at camberley meadows. All cars are welcome, (especially jap motors) and there seems to be quite a bit of interest on other forums. details are as follows:

8pm onwards

Satnav: GU47 0FD.
It is across the road from Blackwater Train station.
the meet itself will be situated in the far corner, turn right as you enter, then follow it around untill nearly the end. you should see where it is by looking for a big group of cars. (the side by the petrol station)

I am in talks with some mags, and if i can promise a good turnout then they may well be in attendance. You might even get yourself a feature!

This will be a static meet, although afterwards if members want then there are a few good roads in the area (please drive in sensible manner). There is a petrol station and 24hr shop on-site, and a few takeaways not far away. The local police will be informed, so please arrive and leave without a huge cloud of tyre smoke

I look forward to meeting you all, please add your name and car to the list.

1) d00ner (mitsu colt

Oulton Xmas Driftday

We are off to Oulton Park again on the Saturday before xmas for another driftday.

For those that have not done this before, it’s the perfect way to learn how to drift your RWD or 4WD car and see how it handles and reacts in a slide. The low grip surface is very kind on tyres causing almost zero wear even after a full day of driving sideways! No problem if you are a complete novice, it’s a fun day out and a great way to practice your oversteer skills.

Same format as usual, full access to both drift stages and free instruction available all day to make sure you get the feel for it, you can even get one of our annoyingly talented instructors to drive you round to see what your car can do!

The discounted club rate is £120 for the day (£140 list price), passengers are a tenner and extra drivers £35.

So if you are looking for the perfect way to get out of the shopping on the last Saturday before xmas or if you want to ask SWMBO for something better than a pair of socks as a present this year then shout up and we’ll get you booked in!

Hope a few of you can make it along.

Steve H
Trackaction-Online

Big Toyota Meet On Mainland Europe Summer Of 2010!

Hey,

THIS FIRST POST WILL BE UPDATED WHENEVER THERE ARE NEWS IN RELATION TO THIS THREAD/EVENT!

This is a spinoff thread from the "Big Meet" thread where some of us propsed that we try to arrange a Toyota meet somewhere on mainland Europe so that people from different countries could meet up and enjoy some Toyotahead talks!

So....a short sum up. There are several who have showed an interest in such a meet in the the other thread. Germany, maybe the Nur...Ring, has been suggested as a possible place to meet up. What is important that it is somewhere which would be fairly accessible whether you are from Norway (such as myself), England, Spaing or Hungary to mention a few. I personally would think that it would have been awesome to meet up with people from across the continent and see different cars and share ideas.

If there turns out to be enough genuine interest I have suggested that we make a simple website with information about the meet, were people could sign up on a "I would be interested in attending such a meet" list. All discussions and such about the meet would take place on this, and other, forums. Then "when" and the "where" would need to be decided at a later stage, so suggestions and ideas are more than welcome!

To see if there are enough people interested to make something like this happen I thought we'd start off with a simple list. If a meet like this is something you would seriously be interested in attending, then make a copy of the list of screennames already interested, add your own and publish you post. Please post comments, ideas, and feedback in a separate post!

UPDATES:

7 NOV 2009: Some practical questions asked in post #27

Another Driftday At Oulton Sept 26th

It's been a couple of months since Trackaction-Online last went drifting at Oulton so we felt the need for a bit more sideways playing!

We're back on the drift courses again on Saturday Sept 26th and as usual, club discounts are available if you'd like to come along.

For anyone that hasn't seen the two drift courses at Oulton, they look like this –

And this is what we do on them –

The surface is a special low friction tarmac that will give virtually zero tyre wear and is great for practicing drifting and car control and we always limit the numbers to ensure that everyone gets plenty of tracktime. Pretty well any rear wheel drive (and most sporty 4wd) car can drift on here and with the free instruction that we always have available on the day you can be sure that you'll be drifting like a pro in no time!

Normal rate for the day is £140 but club members can come along for just £120, passengers are welcome to sign in for £10 and extra drivers for £35. Please shout up on this thread if you'd like to come and I'll send you the booking details and discount code.

Hope a few of you can make it.

Steve H

TA-OL

Gauging Interest: Track Day 2010

Right guys, just seeing if I can drum up some interest on here, ideally want to keep it to TOC but may go to other toyota based forums if I do not get the numbers

I have been looking into running a track day next year, something a bit more relaxed but still fun and came across this:

QUOTE

Hi Mark, Thanks for your interest & subsequent enquiry to which I hope we can be of assistance. Firstly there would be no problem whatsoever catering for a club trackday, which we can tailor to your requirements. We would normally work on a maximum of 30 cars, 35 at a squeeze, running 15 to 17 cars on track at any one time. For a club social day out, I would recommend the standard day format, of briefing, sighting laps, open pit lane through until lunchtime, one hour lunch, back on track for part of the afternoon, and then finishing off with a 10 minute qualifying session in a twin engined kart, and a 15 minute race. Included in the day would be bacon or sausage rolls with tea or coffee for breakfast, and a buffet lunch with chips etc at a total cost of £99.
We can run up to 105Db, and the day would be run in a relaxed manner.Let me know what your feelings are, and bear in mind we can run the day to your specific requirement should the standard format be of no interest.

There are a few options as to the layout of the track to get the right mix of corners and striaghts so that it evens out the playing field a little.

I am thinking about doing it Mid May (working around my rugby season) and so the weather might be ok.

So to summarise, a track day, with food inc and a high Db limit, PLUS karting all for 99 of your finest english (or scottish welsh or irish) pounds!

And then after a trip to a local take away for a Parmo!!
