If you want to add an amp to your current setup, then take the output from the speakers, convert them to phono/RCA outputs and then input to the amp.

Remember, if your sending a low/bad signal to an amp, all it will do will increase it giving a much worse output.

There isn't a remote wire from the back of the H/U as such.

You can use the switchable live which is controlled from the ignition, to power on your amp, which will do the same job.

I personally can't remember what colour cables you need to wire in your line connector.
Without trying to mess up your wiring loom in the car, you could get an toyota-to-ISO loom instead, and wire up the line connector from that, then connect it all in your car.
I could, if i get time, try and get pics of what's in my car, and let you know, but all you need to know is the colour cables of each +/- of each side of your car.

How did you wire it up then?
Are you sure you had it setup correctly?

I wired the lead to the Rear Plug (Red, Yellow, Black, Yellow) Red and Black being both +ve left and right and got it wired to earth aswell.

Just to give you a better idea this is the model I have Link and I wired the line connector to 2nd plug from the left
