hello,

Just wondering, i was over at a garage yesterday getting my spoiler fitted, and was told by the mechanic there that they have 2 T-sport engine's, brand new (iam guessing reconditioned). But the thing is, is it actually poss to drop one off these beasts into any corolla, obviously iam talking 02-06 plate. Would you need to get a whole new gear system or does nothing need changing?

I never actually asked him for the price, becuase i wasn't considering it, but you can get one on ebay, and they will fit it in for you!

if i put the t-sport ecu in a 1.4 corolla, will that make a diff?, and more importantly is it possible?

does anyone know where i can get the corolla compressor back bumper, with the 2 whol's for the exhaust?

thanks.

I highly doubt it because the 1.4 is a different engine. The CTSC is the same 2zz but with a roots supercharger. So they are interchangable, but not so with the 1.4 because it doesn't even have lift. The ECU would be trying to engage cams that don't exist! laugh.gif

sum 1.4 do have lift sooo not really a problem. you would be better with the ecu for a 1.8 swap for the proper performance.. like a 1.4 isnt going to use as much fuel as a 1.8 and could make the car run slightly lean with the 1.4 ecu. am away to do the 1.8 vvti swap into my 1.4 vvti. aparently the looms are the same for the engine and mounts. any engine can go into any car if you really want it to biggrin.gif

hmm, iam not really fond with these engine swaps, becuase i would never get over the fact that the engine will run like an actual t-sport that has come out from the factory at toyota, dunno that maybe me :S:S

the link for the engine: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/TOYOTA-CELICA-COROLL...=item4ce682b699

well, on my engine, when i get past 4000RPM i can feel the engine pull more, i wouldn't say it's the lift, but maybe the "VVTI" kicking in?

I got 23000miles on my clock, does anyone know if the engine has still not opened? becuase acouple of times i have taken the rev to 6000rpm, deff have not redlined it!!, so just wondering has this caused it any damage, havn't noticed anything, runs perfect, but just wondering becuase it's still low milage.

That is just a change in the VVT-i timings.... this happens in all VVT-i engines....

Lift is only available in the VVTL-i engines found in the Celica & Corolla T Sport's thumbsup.gif
