Not really. Pasted most of it. Idea is we meet in the Railway carpark (free). May well go into Bletchley Park. Currently around 10 takers.

Will be Classic and 04 Prius there.

Seriously thinking about going myself...

Could bring my kids and bore them with cars!

You're going then Braindead, what about SilverT4 ?

Got my first 500 + (fourth tank used) 512 to be exact 54.6 mpg, my best yet.

Unfortunatley I' have to attend a christening on that date, so can't make it. However after a few drinks in the bar later, I'll no doubt be boring everyone as I tell them all about my Prius.

Change Of Plan - For The Better - See Below

Date: Wed, 30 Jun 2004 11:28:48 +0100

From: "Jerry Whitmarsh" <jerry@jerrywhitmarsh.com>

Subject: IMPORTANT NOTICE re 4 July!!

Following the email from Grant Calkins (msge 3023), I have engaged in a

series of email exchanges with several people at Bletchley Park, including

the Director, Christine Large. The final result is pasted below. As you will

see, the assembly point has now changed to inside Bletchley Park. Although

that means we have to buy tickets I think it should make for a much more

satisfactory day. A few more points:

- see my earlier update (msge 3125). I suggest that the other arrangements

remain the same.

- as Grant mentioned, refreshments are available at Bletchley Park; we will

probably bring a picnic however.

- PLEASE will all those who have said they are coming, please come!

Otherwise it may be embarrassing...

- Anyone else who would like to come, do let me know, there is plenty of

space.

- many thanks to Grant, whose name evidently has counted for something here

- and as Christine Large has been helpful too, maybe I should give a plug

for the book she has written about the theft a year or two ago of an Enigma

machine, eventually sent to Jeremy Paxman at the BBC. Details here:

http://www.hijackingenigma.com/

- don't forget cheap entry tickets available at:

http://www.bletchleypark.org.uk [in the shop]

With the Park, the classic cars, the flypast(s) and all the Priuses this is

an event not to be missed! See you all Sunday

regards

Jerry

email from Bletchley Park:

---------------------------------

Dear Jerry,

Your email has been passed to me as the Events Manager here at Bletchley

Park. I'm sorry if there has been any confusion over your visit to

Bletchley Park. Originally, when the request came through for the 4th July,

as we have a Classic Car Picnic on that day, we believed that having a

display of new hybrid cars would not be the most appropriate accompaniment

for the event.

However, after further discussions we are happy to have you visit the Park

on Sunday but not be part of the Classic Car event. We have allocated an

area in the stable block which will accommodate approx 20 cars for you to

use. Normal admission prices will apply to your group (£10 per adult, £8

concessions & children).

When arriving please state that you are with the Toyota Prius owners club.

Whether if you have bought tickets online or not, you will be directed to

the Visitor Information Centre where you will either pay for your tickets or

present your on-line purchase receipt. You will be issued with a weekend

visitor pass and then our staff will direct your cars to the stable block

where you can park all day as a group.

I hope that this is satisfactory for you but if you have any questions,

please contact me direct on this email address or on the numbers below.

We look forward to seeing you on Sunday.

Best regards,

Carys Jenkins

OK...let me get this straight.

TOC have a plot (or stand) that holds up to 125 cars. £10 entry fee for Saturday (or Sunday).

Apart from meeting with you guys and loads of other Jap car owners, is there anything else going on? Trade stands etc.

What happens if it rains?

Can I just show up on the Sat or Sun and pay at the gate? Having the kitchen done so may need to put some work in. Will come if I can.

If I can turn up on the day, what's the routine? Pay at the entrance then ask for the TOC pitch?

About right, give it large on the gate and pay your quid on the stand
