Fancy Being A Postman ?

I am currently looking for people who would like to become delivery postman / woman at my Royal Mail Delivery Office in Rickmansworth, Herts (M25 J18).

The hours are 5am - 2pm (including a 1 hour paid break) over 5 days with a rolling day off (Monday 1st week, Tuesday the next and so on). In reality most of my staff are finished by about midday and are free to go once the delivery is complete.

Needless to say you need to be fairly fit and be prepared to be outdoors in all weathers. A bag of mail weighs around 16 kilos and you can expect to have about 6 bags per day. You will deliver to around 500 addresses each day.

5 weeks paid annual holiday (but not to be taken in December), no sick pay.

People with criminal records (apart from spent convictions) will not be accepted.

The pay is £19432.92 p/a (paid weekly). This is basic pay, early start shift payment, outer London weighting and built in overtime all included.

There is opportunity to earn around £8000 p/a on top in additional overtime although this is not guaranteed of course.

Anyone interested please go HERE and enter the code PR6979 in the job reference box. This won't be live until Monday 21 March.

Cheers.

Steve

Anyone called PAT fancy applying..............?

The posties around my lil village in Herts are good as Gold. Very friendly bunch and won't wake you if they have something to deliver - they know I'm out nights so good on 'em.

I only know about vacancies in my area but you can search on Royal Mail website by entering your postcode and how far you are prepared to travel.

On the second point each office works slightly different but at mine -

0500 - 0530 get round ready

0530 - 0600 sort mail

0600 - 0630 - get round ready

0630 - 0718 - sort mailsort (junk mail)

0718 - 0800 get round ready

0800 - 0900 break

0900 - until finished - do the delivery round

Most people choose not to have a break and also use their cars on delivery to make some time.

Early mornings are not for me, plus you're miles away!

I'm surprised at the salary though - thats a darn good salary! Thats worth the early mornings and travelling miles to Herts!:lol:

Wow that is very good pay, didn't realise it was that much!! Personally I wouldn't like the early starts - I get up at 6.40 4 days a week as it is, and that's a struggle!

Slight delay in geting the jobs on line. Should be up and running by about 24 March.
