I have recently gone for the new i phone but the bluetooth connection is driving me crazy. Well not so much me as other people who complain constantly about poor sound. either i sound like i have a bucket on my head, im holding the phone very far away or i've got the norman colliers and keep droping out every other word. Have other people experienced similar problems ? Is there a way round it, or should i switch to my trusty nokia 6230 for my car journeys ?

I find it is unpredictable, quality-wise.

Do you get a foghorn sound when you try to make a call from the built in phone book or from your phone as well?

There is still a lot of software issues on Iphone particularly with bluetooth connection I would go back to your trusty Nokia until Apple sort them out.

I'm delighted with the ease of connecting with my non-G3 iPhone: as soon as I get in the car and hit the power button, I get a message that says 'bluetooth connection successfully established' or words to that effect. The only thing I've not been able to do is upload my address book to the Spirit - I wonder if anybody else has succeeded with an iPhone and if so, I'd love to know how they did it. Would it work to swap the SIM card to a Nokia or Motorola, for example and upload from there and if so, would that phone book list remain in the car's phone book memory when I switch the SIM card back to the iPhone?

The post about problems with G3 iPhone has made me think again about upgrading to the G3 version. I'll watch out for updates here on this story.

It is possible to adjust your Bluetooth microphone sensitivity and volume. Your problem may be at least partly improved by doing this.

The option is in a hidden menu of the central console display. I believe its called the 'system diagnostics screen' and is accessed by pressing and holding down the 'INFO' button while turning on and off your main headlights 3 times in ACC mode (Power on when foot off brake).

Here is a useful thread on the US Priuschat website:
