Bluetooth Compatability

Hi

I have had my Verso TR from new (56) and have until recently used a motorolla mobile phone which worked fine with the standard factory fitted bluetooth system in the vehicle. I have now had to change my mobile to a Sony Ericsson W880i but can not get it to pair with the bluetooth. I have discussed this with my main dealer today when it was serviced they have not had any reported problems regarding this. I know that the system works as i have another phoned paired with it which works fine. Has anyone experienced similar problems or is it just a prtoblem with the W880i?

Any suggestions please :(

Whilst bluetooth has a set of standards which govern devices that use it within those standards there are some variations and so when new devices are released they are not always compatible with older devices. I would say it is just that particular model of phone. With the Garmin GPS you can download bluetooth driver updates so maybe your Toyota dealer has an update for the bluetooth software in the Verso.

All you never wanted to know about bluetooth, to give you an idea of how things have developed...

The problem could be with the default code the sony ericson use. When we got my wifes new verso the salesman mentioned this to us because both me and the wife have sony phones. He said they had also originally had problems with it on some of their sony phones. I am not sure which use which but for example the toyota bluetooth kit has a default code of 0000 while sony phones use a default of 0123. To fix it you manually have to type in the toyota code when you do the pairing (should find actual code used in the toyota manual).

Hope this helps

What ypo do is set command pair phone, set phone in scan mode, woops pairing failed, the phone picks up the car and asks you for the code enter code only, next enter command pair phone, then on the phone hit continue there phone paired.

Itbefore the seems to be the bluetooth system times out before the more upto date phones can find the device. hopr this helps. :)
