Full Version: New Rear Bumper On Avensis

Today, I stupidly reversed into a wooden stump in a car park!

The bumper needs to be replaced (So i'm told by 3 seperate garages).

Toyota want £675 to do the job! This is crazy considering I replaced the rear bumper on my 400h last year for £400, inc paint, parts labour and that was with an offical Lexus garage!

I'm still waiting to here from the smaller workshops.

Does anyone know of some cheap yet reliable workshops in and around Reading, Wokingham, Bracknell?

The damage is quite bard, its on the left corner of the bumper, a long narrow gouge about 6/7 inches long top to bottom, with the bumper support strut just poking through.

My mates reckon I can buy some filler from Halfords, take my time and do a semi tidy job to tie me over. What do people think?

Any help on repairs/local garages would be great!

Forgot to add,

Does anyone know of a toyota car parts dealer, who I can buy a rear bumper off??

Fit it myself and then take it to a spray shop? Or it comes in my colour (Silver steel)

Thanks for help in advance!
