My 3 year + one month old Corolla Verso 2.2 diesel delevoped serious problems with the engine. It was found to be the piston rings. Thankfully the Toyota garage did job free. I was told the solution was to fit "modified" rings, which implies the original were not up to the job!!
Anyone else had similar problems with this engine??
(I was also told this was a "known problem".. !!)

the problem lie's with the scraper rings they gunk up and the engine starts to burn/use a lot of oil.its not too common i havent seen it alot but i have rebuilt one of the engines due to this problem in total the dealer i work for has only ever rebuilt two of these engines.
