hi all, how from the vin number do i work out the build date, my uk spec mr2 na rev2 first reg date was 8/94 (m plate). all info i see gives m plate cars as rev3 which mine is not, i have tried to work it out but nothing means much to me.

you can look on the seat belt at the bottom, there should be a serial number label and this normaly gives a date of manufacture. wont be greatly acurate but should narrow it to a month or so

Have a look in the stickies .. there is a list of what date matches what VIN.

ah sorted, now how did i not see that info earlier when i looked. toyota must have had my car instock for about 17 months before it was registered, wonderd why it was an M plate rev 2.

Made in Japan, long time to fill a boat with cars, another 6 weeks shipping it over. Then a few weeks getting it to dealers, then sat in the showroom window for a while.
