Yes they get the item from Japan sent to them in the US and then ship it on to you. As far as I know there is no direct link from JDM parts to UK. Contact name there is Edward, very helpful guy. By the way remember there can be American tax added on but not always, it depends if you are lucky!

Stompe, there are several suppliers, TRD included, that ship to the UK direct from Japan. I've, allegedly, bought lots of TRD, C-One and Blitz parts direct for a modded Gen 7 Celica. I'll see if I can dig out some links. Ken in Hong Kong was always top notch. Items sent as a gift or sample.
