Hi all,
Sorry if this has been asked before but can the reverse beeping noise be disabled on the Gen3? I assume it is there for safety reasons as the car can be accidentally slotted into reverse (?)
Reason why I asked is I am considering adding rear parking sensors and don't want a dual beeping party in the car whenever I am reversing near an object.
Many thanks.

Hi,
It's a dealer customisable item, so you need to ask your dealer... it's a 2 minutes job. Let us know if you have a friendly dealer giving nice customer service or one that tries to charge you ££££ for it.

We were thinking about having the reverse beep silenced as it is a lot louder than the reverse sensor beeps, but have got used to it now so it's not too bad (if your hearing is ok!). At some point we'll probably go past our local dealer and pop in to see how much it will cost. The reverse sensors are definitely worth having though (ours came fitted even though we never ordered them - bonus!).

you are all correct the reverse beep is customisable. it is done by your dealer using their handheld computer.
there is an option to have it off, single, or continuous beep.
i am still waiting for my t-spirit and i am pondering the addition of reverse sensors, but i am going to wait and see how good the camera is with handling different situations (dark, sunlight, carparks, etc).
can anyone tell me how good it is.???

Generally (and to my surprise), very good.
Sunlight, bright sunlight

.....you'll have to explain what that is?

Went to our dealer today to pick up our mats (£60!!) and asked about the reverse beep. The technician didn't think it could be disabled until I told him that it says it can be in the manual (and it has been disabled to a single beep on their demonstrator

). He wanted to know where I had found out that it can be done and said it would cost £42.50 ("if it can be done"). We left it for now and will try again when it has its first service.
Wouldn't mind, but with the reverse sensor there are a number of beeps when they are activated to confirm their status as operational - this is drowned out by the main reverse beep.

To be very honest, the reverse camera makes the reverse sensor obsolete. I had it in my previous car also and much prefer to have a camera than an annoying beep. The picture quality is excellent in most conditions with the exception of total darkness.
dmeredith: £60 for the mats!!?? Plus £42 for disabling the reverse beeps!!?? I am so glad I read this forum before I picked up my car and asked for it to be done before I gave them the rest of the money.

went into the dealer today, and asked if they could make it one "beep" instead of continuous, he said he would find out, off he went and came back and asked for the key, drove it into the workshop, and 5 minutes later he handed me the key back......all done.
