Has anyone experienced a problem with the automatic rearview mirror. Mine does not seem to detect that it is night and therefore does not block the glare of rear headlights. I have now stuck a bit of tape over the sensor on the rear of the mirror and now it works ok. I will be having a word with my dealer but just wondered if anyone else had the same problem?

Cheers

Some of the guys on Prius Chat are saying the rear spoiler is stopping the headlights getting a good sight of the sensor and therefore not making it dim.

Hi Stompe,
i can totally agree with steppy there is a problem with the rear spoiler stopping a clear line of sight to the mirror sensor.
it only works accurately when the following vehicle is the correct distance behind you.

Sorry Stompe, I would like to be able to give you a link to the post, but I haven't been on there for a while, and that forum has so many posts its very difficult to keep track. I used to read it every day, but since I made the decision not to go ahead with my purchase I only tend to look at it every now and then just to see how everyone is getting on.

Just had a quick look and this may help you get started
