My mates just bought a G reg auto mk2 MR2, its a nice car, but it would be nicer if we knew what these buttons did.
On the cennter console there are two buttons next to each other, one power and one manual. They turn ECT lights on on the dash, but ive no idea what this means
The one other button ive no idea what function it does, is a red circle on the top of the gear selector base. Its got jap writing on it.
any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks - Dan

If I remember rightly, these select different modes for the autobox. One is for economy driving, the other is a sports mode i.e. holds vehicle in lower gears longer for quicker acceleration. Don't know which button does which though.....

Hmmm, thinking back to the days of my auto celica....
The button on the gear selection handle is a kickdown (drop down a gear), very useful for overtaking.
The button at the bottom is 'power'. This is the button that keeps you in gear for longer.
