I think one of the rear calipers may have seized...

Anyway, the pad is now knackered and is now scoring the caliper/back plate/something and making a horrible grinding noise.

I've been meaning to fit beefier brakes all round for a while anyway, but I also need new wheels and cash is a bit tight seeing as my insurance renewal just came up (£1080, 20 with 1 years NCB and clean license incase anybody is wondering) too.

How much do you think it would cost to replace the caliper and brakes with standard parts?

And how much with some nice, big discs and pads (please point me in the direction of the aforementioned products if you have any ideas)?

re-con the caliper .. I've got a few re-con kits about somewhere if you fancy popping over ..

Take the car fro a drive and then feel the alloy .. if the brake is binding the alloy will be hotter than the one opposite (on the same axle) ..

Bibbs, I'll get back to you, mate!

I may well take you up on that. I'll investigate the wheel thing tomorrow.

Ta. :)
