My mate has picked up a J Reg turbo. Thing is he got it back from England and it's started overheating. When it overheats it only rises 3/4's up the guage it dosen't sit just below half way.
The car is also leaking coolant somewhere.
Do you think this could be the head gasket away . No leakege round the head or mayonaise on the oil cap but there is a substantial bit of steam from the exhaust.
Any help much appreciated guys

what was the problem then?

I think it was one of the hoses had blown off and that's why there was no water and and no compression.
should have checked that before hand doh!!

Your right he was lucky guys. Same problems happened on my 200sx only i didn't get away with it. I had to purchase a new engine .
But thank god i've got my MR2 now. No worries .............. YET!
