Hi,

I have decided to change my STD MR2 Alloys from the 15'' to 17'', I now have to decide which tyres i should boot the new Alloys out in, the tyre Choices are:

Toyo Proxy T1-S
VS
Hankook Ventus Sport K104

On paper looking at each of the tyres characteristics they are closely drawn, as shown below.
Each section is awarded marks depending on performance

5 = very poor

Yoyo T1-S

Braking in dry conditions Score 1.7
Grip in wet conditions Score 2.3
Braking in wet condition Score 2.5
Grip in snow Score 5.2
Comfort Score 3.2
Tyre noise (in car) Score 3.3
Tyre noise (external) Score 3.1
Tyre wear Score 4.2
Kilometres driven 15.00 km

Hankook K104
Grip in dry conditions Score 1.2
Braking in dry conditions Score 1.6
Grip in wet conditions Score 2.0
Braking in wet condition Score 2.4
Grip in snow Score 4.0
Comfort Score 1.8
Tyre noise (in car) Score 2.2
Tyre noise (external) Score 2.4
Tyre wear Score 1.6
Kilometres driven 61.500 km

Now I have never had either on any cars so in real life I cannot comment on them, would anyone like to tell me their opinions of these tyres preferably from first hand experience.

Cheers Dave thumbsup.gif

I've had both and sell both.. Toyo T1-s wins by a mile even better if you can get the T1-r's (newest tyre from Toyo).. and going on feed back from costomers again Toyo wins everytime absolutely no question.

Hi,

Well decided to keep the STD alloys for a while but I am going to re-shoes these with either the Hankooks, Toyo's or if I can afford it some Bridgestone S03's as ive heard loads of good things about them.

4X Hankooks £217.20
4X Toyos £325
4X Bridgestones £350.80 mytyres

Go for the bridgestones never skimp on tyres is my advice smile.gif
besides I use the ventus as drift tyres thats how much I trust them on the roads blink.gif

I'm friends with the manager of auto tyre company.
I get my tyres without the profit but i still pay the vat.

But it's a hell of alot cheaper.
and as i'm always eating them anyway he still gets his money worth out of me
