Full Version: Kerbed Alloy

I realise this is a bit of a long shot but I kerbed one of my Alloys yesterday, rather badly. My car is an Avensis Verso TSpirit and the wheel is the standard 16 inch, 7 spoke wheel.

The reason for mentioning it here is that I nearly fell off my chair when I was told it will be £260 to replace it. The reason apparently is that it is a genuine Toyota Japaneese spare part rather than the European made Avensis wheel options which cost £100 less.

So, is there anyone out there that can source this wheel for closer to the European price?

Providing it's not bent or cracked then the best bet is to take it to Toyota dealership (mine refurb them for £65 + VAT).

Alternatively there are loads of places around the country which refurb wheels for up to £100 each..........far better than buying a new one.

They just strip it back, fill it, bake it and then repray and lacquer. As good as new.

Hope that helps? thumbsup.gif
