This morning I had my V11 form from the DVLA, the first since acquiring my January 2001 Prius. I fully expected to pay £65 for the year as this was the info I had been given by the Toyota dealership - Westover Toyota at Bournemouth. So I was somewhat miffed to see that I had to pay the full whack.

So I spent a joyless 15 minutes trying to get through to the DVLA on their fabulous (hah!) automated telephone system only to be told that the regulations apply to cars built from March 2001. My pride & joy was two months too old to qualify! How ridiculous is that! Having vented my spleen on the poor sod at the other end I got in touch with the salesman who sold me the car. Needless to say he was totally unaware of this situation. So I'm now waiting to see what the garage will do in recompense.

In the meantime, prospective buyers of older 2nd hand Priuses beware!

shame to hear that

the toyota dealer really should have known about that, ive been to westover a few time and a couple of the salesmen there are a tad clueless. that said, the dealer is a good one IMO

hope it gets sorted, i think they should re-imburse u the difference.
