Anyone actually done this??

Reason I'm asking is that we've recently bought a stupodly mahoosive sofa!!... lol. Basically there's no room for the computer desk anymore in the livingroom.... :(

We could put it in the dining room, but then whenever you want to go on it, someone will be sittin gall alone in another room.

We do have a laptop, but sometimes the pair of us are on the computers (sad I know).

Just thought it might be usefull to have the PC connected to the TV? That way it would also be connected to the hi-fi system.

What's the picture like doing this, and how useable is it? (we have a wireless mouse and keyboard).

Won't really be used for playing games (well maybe Command and conquer), but possibly just for surfing the net etc?

Without disconnecting it all etc, anyone got any experiance of this?

thanks! :D

Depends what connections you have on your tv ;)

There's a post in the games section about connecting pcs/xboxs to TVs ..... but to put it simple it is possible and the quality is pretty good  !

Have VGA input on the telly box ... think I'll just connect it and see what happends... :)

(PS... there's a games section?)

We connected ours via the VGA, it's brilliant. Only one problem, my Hubby runs a shop on Ebay, so I never got to watch TV. Although our TV has a function to split the screen for two inputs, in the end we bought a monitor

Well I finally got my **** in gear and connected it up!! There'll be no room soon when the new sofa comes for a computer desk, so this'll do. :)

Only thing is, I found I have to have the resolution turned right down to 1024*768 or even 800*600 so I can read what's on the screen while sitting on the sofa.

oh.... and PIP is cool... can surf the net while watching the tellybox

The only thing I don't like about it is the amount of cables behine the telly stand/speakers etc.

VGA cables are pretty good but far from perfect. Try a DVI to HDMI cable or even better invest in a graphics card with an HDMI output, there are more and more hitting the market.

well tbh the only thing I sue the pc for is surfing the net, my ipod stuff and playing the command and conquer games.

Not that the PC is crap spec, just I've moved over to the Xbox360 for all my gaming needs... :)

Must say though, the pc does look pretty good on the tv. Got it at 1024*768 so I don't have to squint too much while sitting on the sofa.

You'll end up with eyestrain buddy. If you start to get headaches go back to your TV's native resolution which is probably 1366x768. You might not even notice it but if you get headaches that'll probably be the problem.
Jimlad
1366*768 ?? Don't think the pc will let me select that!

I can goto 1360*768 ....

or I might just stick with 800*600 to save my eye sight... lol
