Hi Folks another Newbie LC-5 owner to the fold.

I was wodering if anyone had any experience good or bad with chipping the 3.0l D4D engine for a little more power and economy ?

If so which chip supplier did you use and how successful was it ?

I'm guessing it's easily possibe since they brought out the Invincible version of the std LC-4 D4D

Thanks for any advice,

Muzzworth

I don't have an answer to your question other than have you thought about contacting Superchips?

They don't seem to do the Land Cruiser but they do other Toyota diesels. Have you thought about posting your question here to see if you get can get guidance?

I drive the Invincible but I still don't know if I have the chipped version unsure.gif I bought it new in March this year so maybe it is.... it still tramps on nicely when I ask it to thumbsup.gif

Good luck with your search and please let us know how you get on biggrin.gif

Thanks Steve,

There's a garage in the area that is an agent for SuperChip so we'll see how that goes - will keep you posted - I would expect that your Invincible is probably in line with the normal spec for them which I think was around the 200(ish) bhp but Toyota didn't publish any performance figures for the Invincible that I could find - be interested to see what mpg you're getting ?
Is that your's in the photo ? Looks nice kewlpics.gif - mine's also silver with the rear windows tinted cool.gif

I will be able to supply you with a chip kit for your model, just as soon as my cheque arrives with TOC to become a registered supplier. Watch this space as they say. Cheers. Kingo thumbsup.gif

Thanks for the kind words Muzz thumbsup.gif .... the car displayed is indeed mine and I find it ideal for the type of driving I am faced with on a day to day basis. Far better in that respect than my previous car which was a Nissan 350Z.

As far as mpg is concerned I think I get about 24/25mpg but that is all town driving down here on the outskirts of East London/Essex. If I put my foot down I would guess that figure could well drop by some 5mpg but I still do not consider that at all bad for a big car.

It seems that Kingo (aka Parts-King) might be a decent bet for a chip kit.... I wonder if it would be all that difficult to get the ECU remapped after the install unsure.gif
