Hello,
I have a 1996 Hilux 4x4 2.8L diesel.
I am replacing the head gasket and have some problems with it.
A picture of the gasket is here:

You will see on the picture(in green) that some holes for coolant is complety sealed.
Other holes (in red) are partly sealed.
The problem i am getting is that the old gasket is the same as the new one!
Is this normal on this engine?

You will find that on the Toyota's, nothing to worry about as long as you get a good seal on the gasket, was it a genuine Toyota part.

It was a genuine Toyota part. I took the old gasket to the dealer who compared it with the new one.
I did not have any overheat problems with the old gasket. Thanks.
