Hey guys.
I have a 2005, 3 door Yaris and I am planning on buying some nice alloys and wheels for it soon. But I dont want to compromise on the ride quality so some people have suggested going for bigger wheels. From searching around and googling, I think I might go for 16 inch alloys with 205/55/16 Tyres.
This tyre setup would give a comfy ride, right? and more importantly, would they fit my (unlowered) Yaris?
Please let me know.
p.s Would also be nice if people could suggest places I could buy nice alloys near Edinburgh region (scotland). I have been looking around the net and I think alloywheels.com have reasonable prices for the stuff they are offering, but then again I have no idea what they charge for the same stuff in shops.
Thank you for reading.

The internet is the best place to buy alloys.. got mine from www.topgear.co.uk
16's will go on a yaris fine.

I very often buy some special offers off wolfrace.net, if there is anything you fancy on there, give me a shout, I may be able to get you a bit off them. Kingo

I woldn't fit 205/55x16 tyres.. they will be too big, you might get away with 205/45x16, but could still have rubbing issues on a full load... normally with 16" you would go for 195/45x16, although this would give you a slightly harsher ride it won't take long to get used to it and when you do you will see that the ride comfort is still ok.
As for buying in Edinburgh... try Auto Image....
55-63 Dundee St
Edinburgh, EH11 1AL

Or.. Skidz in Falkirk..
155-208 Grahams Rd
Falkirk, FK2 7BQ

You will probably be cheaper buying online.. it is well worth shopping around thoroughly as the savings can be quite rewarding.

Your speedo reading when doing 60mph will be a lot slower with that size tyre.
When doing 60 on the speedo you will be doing nearer 65mph.

The Speedo wont be a problem, but are you guys sure about 205/55/16 tyres not fitting a Yaris? I have seen 205/50/16 tyres on a Lowered yaris, but I can even go for the 205/50/16 tyres, I just think 205/45 are way too thin.

The Speedo wont be a problem,
It could be when you get done for speeding thinking you are going slower than you actually are

Actually my speedo atm shows I am going faster than I really am. about 3-5mph faster depending on speed, so these tyres would probably fix that problem.
