I have a 2004 Avensis T-Spirit 2.0 D4D.
After the recent snow in Hull UK the engine managment,vrc and trc off lights are illuminated.
I have tryed cleaning around the back of the wheels but they remain on.

Any easy remedy rather than a dealer

Hi there,

Its important you get this fault sorted as soon as possible, because when those lights are on your ABS and VSC systems will be immobilised.

No quick fix I'm affraid. You need to get the codes read from the systems computer. Don't be affaid of the main dealers, you can just get it checked and they can advise you on how much more work is required (if any). This shouldn't take any longer then half an hour. If your a regular customer they probably won't charge you.

Remember they know your car the best, so diagnosis should be quick.

I have had the car in at John Roa Toyota today,
Worst news ive had for car 1) 4 new glow plugs
2) 1 New ECU
£1080
They told me the ECU needed relpacing aslo with 4 new glow plugs.
Looks like a very quick trade in as a local garage had found that after a ecu reset the lights only come on when it rains.
So as a very unhappy Toyota Owner maybe its time to try the Germans or French.
