Right.... here is a picture of a car fitted with toms sideskirts:

As you can see, there is an extra part to the skirt just before the front wheel arch, behind the wheel. Is this standard to the Toms skirts or is it somethign extra that the owner has added?
Cheers.

Russ has Postert rear and front.
The extra bit we *may* be able to get ahold of, as one of the Rogue Systems cars comming over for breaking has them.
I want a TOM's rear too .. I know someone with one who is willing to lend as well .. It's just a matter of a replacement for a few weeks ..

I think a big wing like yours looks alright on a Heavy modded RX7, but not on a MR2 mate.
Me car should be going into the bodyshop soon. Was gonna be end of Feb.. but may be end of this month... wooohoo !!
I can't wait to drive a Nissan Micra ( courtesy car ) around for 1 1/2 weeks... NOT !

Tis why it's in the garage .. would be good if I had a kit to match .. but the full TOM's just doesn't go with a GT wing.

would love it .. just need Russ to pull his finger out
It's a subtle kit that helps the lines of the MR2 without destroying them (like the Veilside).
I would go for a Border front .. just cause it's a bit more agressive ..

January 6, 2004, 11:15 pm
SERIOUSLY!!!
What sort of GENUINE interest would there be in the TOMS front and rear bumpers????
Cos depending on the interest i may, i only said i may consider trying to get hold of them. ( i'll never make any money )
Dont all shout at once!!!
Ben, I can take a hint when i see one. lol

Just ask Pual, the chap that posted about the Veilside skirts.
He's had a Bomex nose from the same place as your getting yours from.
It sounds as good a fit as these

skirts are.
I'v got some pics of the skirts but dont know how to post them.

You have the Bomex nose from MTTE ( or the same guy that russ got his veilside skirts from ) ?
How is it for fitting ?? Are you having many probs etc ? Will the bodyshop easily be able to sort it ?? I got mine a few weeks back.. have it stored away just now tho.
thanks.
Roytoner
January 8, 2004, 8:23 pm
Well then this is a long story... it took me about 4 days to fit as i think is is really for a mk2 ESCORT. It fits but you can't use your headlights as it overleaps them, the s/lights- ind's don't fit we lost part of the n/side taking it to be painted, £75.00 for a new set!! the lad who is painting her had a bad asthma attack flattening it down and now is off work for a week!!
Jimlad
January 8, 2004, 8:45 pm
shocking !! have you managed to get it sorted so you can use the headlights ??
If my nose is ANYTHING like this then MTTE will be getting an earfull !
got any pics??
Did you get yours from MTTE or from the bloke ??
did you complain to them/him ?
Roytoner
January 8, 2004, 9:25 pm

) I will sort them out for you tomorrrow & send them to you

January 8, 2004, 10:01 pm
That's the great thing about Russ's kits .. cause they are copies of my origionals - and the originals fitted 100% .. there was no worries about huge gaps and £££ spent in a bodyshop ..
Jimlad
January 8, 2004, 10:20 pm
with my bodyshop I'll be paying a set price for them to do everything.. even if it does take longer and is a load of hassle. They quoted me a certain amount to get some work done once and it ended up taking them 2days longer than expected... I didn't have to pay any extra.

I've had stuff from the guys in Manchester and have had no problems with fitment or quality.
In fact their quality is A1 and if you have any issues with their products I'm sure they would be only too happy to sort them out.

In my case it is like shutting the barn door after the horse as bolted but after seeing a mail sent to a friend it looks like once they have your money ............... he as some s/shirts that don't fit and THIS is the second pair
RedSunRising
February 3, 2004, 9:28 pm
I understand what you're saying. We'll be fitting a pair of the sideskirts ourselves to a friend's car this weekend so we'll let you know how they fit.
If you take up any issues directly with the manufacturer, it always helps. This is much more productive than a slagging off session on any forum, in my personal experience.
All this does is creates an "us and them" attitude, which does nobody any good in the long run.
As I stated earlier, I've never experienced any problems with fitment from the person supplying the body parts in question.
Roytoner
February 3, 2004, 9:39 pm
All I am saying is that he as taken it up with them and they don't want to know it is not a case of us & them , I am just saying what as happened, if you had read the e-mail you would know what I mean,
have you seen the pic's posted at the start of this?? They is not a good fit, and the second pair was no better !! what is the use of fitting s/shirts if you can't open the doors??
