I still want to go >> HERE <<
It'll be a trek for those in the northern half of the region, but I reckon it'd be well worth a visit !
There's round 5 of the Toyota Sprint Series coming up at Teesside Autodrome too.

A Northern meet outside Yorkshire?!!
Hou
September 8, 2008, 9:20 am
Well I am going to throw this out...............and you will be suprised!
Hows about............Xscape (but actually do something this time like bowling, or laserquest)
Its the most central place for the northerners that actually turn up all the time
fair for les and anne, tegan and rob, fizz, asha, rich, gaz, mo and of course me!!!!
To quote a famous phrase...."If it's outside Yorkshire, it's not worth bloody visiting"
Please wait a few seconds for Video to load!

Not to be a party pooper but Xscape is getting a bit boring and there are too many gypos! - i dont know about most people but i used to love the old northern meets where we would rock up at a country pub somewhere, have dinner - go for a drive down winding country roads then do a photoshoot or whatever we used to do to pass the rest of the afternoon.
Maybe we should do a poll?

We had a meet at scarborough, one at hull under the bridge, another meet taking pics along a country lane with a little brook running down the side (cant remember where and the search function wont go back that far ), one at a cinema in bradford i think it was??
The point is they were at a different place every time - instead of same old same old
Anything else - and you may have pick old members brains as the search function wont give me anything else

There's a 9 mile drive through Dalby Forest, £7 to enter tho and not many pubs in the forest!
Failing that do we just pick a village at random in North Yorkshire??
Nice country pubs and plenty of nice country roads?
Tegan
September 8, 2008, 12:44 pm
I just got a bit more out of the search - we went karting three times, went to bubble inn a few times, we even went to a stately home/ big posh house - if anybody remembers that?
I think a random pub with loads of good roads is a super idea gaz , good food, good drive out , good crowd of TOC'ers always = great meet
Does it have to be in yorkshire? Yorkshire isnt the whole of the northern region ya know Think the northern region goes right up to the border and dont know where it stops down here but im pretty sure it includes notts aswell (Not that theres any interesting roads in notts like)

Right, I know a cracking pub, but cosy, and we would have to book in advance but the food is cracking and the portions are HUGE, as well as being very well priced, just north east of Leeds with plenty of great roads nearby.
The whole reason I suggest Yorks is that it sits between all the northern places members turn up from. If more members came from the west we could venture there.
If you want to suggest a better idea feel free, not like I own a toyota anymore

Huge portions - im there
But seriously that does sound great Hou, lets give it a day or two for some more suggestions then lets make it diplomatic and do a poll for location, im gonna throw the Cat and fiddle in there , i know its in derby but its a great road and theres a pub at the top!
Dont mind if everyone thinks thats too far south - just thought id throw it in as i know a few peeps like to drive that road
Mo- throw a suggestion in then muppett

Or the Mill Inn - Millford near Belper Derby!

Jappy - Thats almost the midlands, is as far south of the north as you can get! Although I do like Matlock Bath, really nice place, went there on a date couple of months back, packed with Bikers!
Matty - You dont need Fizz dude, just tag along we are a friendly bunch
the menu isnt very good though mate, it has gone downhill since it was sold.

I'm interested in coming along to another 1 someday, depends on the dates etc. I'd much rather go to an event or something though, I can just sit in the pub half a mile away, if I'm going for a drive across the country I'd rather do something a bit unusual such as karting & then we can all go to the pub for afterwards
How about a meet this Sunday in the Stoke area around at around 4-5?

Certainly does, I was supposed to be getting a minibus but it's been cancelled so it's looking likely I'm going to have to drive to the game. With it being short notice I might be on my own so I'm wondering if there's anything else worth doing while I'm down there

Alton towers always a winner for a laugh!!!!
a reccomendation from me is karting place i went to once, had great day there, best go kart track i've ever been on, you can't tell on the pics but it's built on a hill, makes loadsa fun for downhill corners, an all the off cambers that catch ya lol, an the karts do 70 mph woo hoo!!!!
it's not quite in northern region, it's in north wales so might be bit too much of a mision for some people, but if it's a group bookin it's like a full day there.
just throwin in out as an idea

There is the Pro AM track that is very entertaining with it's twin engined little rockets
and just round the corner you have one of the nicest pubs/Restaurant in the area:
