I have a 1997 1.8 Carina E Estate- the remote for the central locking packed in 7 months ago so since then have been locking with the key in the drivers door. Now the drivers door key unlocks all the doors but won't lock them. The power lock switch inside works ok and all the doors can be locked by turning the passenger door lock. I've had the drivers door lock out and all the moving parts work ok
Anyone had this before? Is it the door lock electrical part that is faulty? the bit that is connected to the central locking. I was going to try to get another 2nd hand door lock for it.

Try this. I had the same problem and this was the resolution.
