I bought my 2007 Toyota Hilux 3.0D D/C R/B Raider new; since then I have had the same unexplained 'problem' 3 times to date.
When I get into the vehicle and switch it on an audible alarm sounds randomly - with no associated warning light illuminated. When the audible alarm goes silent and I use either the clutch or brake the alarm sounds for the duration the clutch or brake is held. This does not affect the performance of the vehicle - as far as I can tell. The sound is similar to when the lights is on and the door is opened.
Switching the vehicle off has thus far resolved the problem each time.
The last occurence was 3 weeks ago; what I noticed - and which concerns me - is that after switching the vehicle off- and then back on, none of the normal dash left-side (rev. counter) indicators came on; not even the airbag/safety system testing lamp.
When this problem occurred the 2nd time I drove to a Toyota dealership; they connected their equipment and did tests but could find nothing wrong.
I have reported this again the 3rd time and was again assured that I am the only person in the world reporting this problem.
Has anybody else experienced the same problem? Any solutions?

Do you have a towbar, by any chance? What exactly are your symptoms, btw?
