  • Speed Limit Change warning

    Just taken delivery of Corolla 1.8 Design TS. Generally pleased with it after previously owning Peugeots. Some annoying things I am baffled by on Corolla. The speed limit and exceeding speed limit warning is the worst. Living in an urban area with constant changes between 20 and 30mph zones results in constant beeping from the car. I worked out how to change it to visual only in the settings menu but was baffled to discover that at the end of the journey when you switch the engine off it default

    Hazard Warning Switch Illumination

    I noticed a few weeks ago that if I depress the Hazard Warning switch, it does not light up, although all the indicators flash. Should it be illuminated when in use? (All my previous cars had an illuminated switch which flashed in time with the indicators). I know I have had the car for nearly a year, but never noticed this before. If it should illuminate, I will mention it when I go to the dealer on Wednesday for my front mud flaps fitting - after waiting since day 1!

    Yaris steering not self centering

    Hi Just picked up a 2004 Yaris with a genuine 50k miles. Car is fine apart from the steering which doesn't self centre from anything less than the 2 or 10 o'clock position. In the straight ahead position it takes quite a lot of pressure on the wheel to make it move before it suddenly unsticks and moves suddenly. When returning the wheel to straight ahead which you have to do manually it does so in a series of notches. From what I can gather by looking online it isn't an uncommon issue but I
