HI GUYs

I need your advice.

The problem is , as follows:

My Avensis has run of 115k kms (on the clock since 2003) and now i feel that some knocking noises are heard when drived on the bad road.

When drived slowly - no knocks are heard at all. I have changed both front shock absorbers assemblies by 95k hoping this issue will be gone, but it still exists.

I used to deal with two diferent Toyota dealers to evaluate both conclusions how to cure this issue. The first states that it is necessary to change only guide pins, but another one states that both calipiers and guide pins to be changed. I understand both calipiers holes and pins have become word down resulting their respepctive diametres expanded/reduced, respectively. May be the calipier has been designed as the base part as harder to be worn down. So far I have nothing to compare. It is understood each part costs money and everyone of us tries to safe own pocket :). Who can make this picture clear what to do. I am really fed up with this noise. Please come back . Cheers/Igor

Hi mate, the Toyota manual shows a slide pin kit to overhaul the front brakes, it looks very simple to do if you can buy the pin and bush kit, see drawings attached here.

Regards Pete.
