80k Dealer Service

But wondered if someone could put in laymens terms what MR T will do on an 80k Service on a 54 plate 2.0 D4D?

Just had my 2.0 VVTi 54 plate 80k serviced today. cost £161 (knocked down from £190).

Got two quotes, other dealer wanted £250 then dropped to £190 when I queried the price. Said make sure the other garage change everything since its a full big service.

Went back to the first garage and they said that according to the servicing matrix since the car was high mileage it was not a big big service, just a standard one with a lot more checks.

They said the main difference between what they had quoted and the other dealer was an air filter and time.

In the end I paid an extra £15 for a new air filter.

sorry my story is based on petrol but it shows you must shop round.
