Do any of you own classic cars other than Toyotas

I am looking to buy one and am thinking of buying a Rover P6 3500

It is not this actual car but for those of you that are not familiar with Rovers this is what I am looking for

Can you post up photos of the cars you own or one of the car you would like to own

Be reasonable with the choice of car.... no super cars please

Ah the A30.... what a truly British car.... a neighbour next to me had one when I was growing up and I was too tall to get in when I was 15

Was that photo taken at Gaydon

Nice engine that is tight and sounds right. The body is straight and genuine.

Slight faults where a sill is creased but can wait to be changed.... bonnet paint cracking in one place but easily repaired.... O/S/F wing really needs changing but the seller is throwing in a replacement wing as part of the deal. Rear wings, both need the paint tidying up but easily done. Power steering box leaks slightly but got through the MOT and seller is giving me a new replacement box again as part of the deal along with 2 sets of spark plugs, oil and fuel filters. 2 replacement sills again in the deal.

All I need to do is work out a further deal for a boot lid with the spare wheel mounting kit, The three other spare wings, spare diff and gearbox. Also front and rear light clusters which are very rare.

But all in all for a 37 year old car it is really quite good with that lovely V8 noise :D

Does the old Rover smell like it should i.e sort of musty but not damp?

Smells musty and dry and has that scrummy whiff of petrol :)

Blimey when I drove it I was transported back 30+ years to my earlier driving days.... I am so glad that I can now return to those times on my terms :yahoo:

I took one in PX about 10yrs ago, its was a manual 2000 in white and a total minter. I remember it was surprisingly pleasant to drive for an older car, not my cup of tea but if it makes you happy and all that good luck with her
