Hi everyone,

In Australia we do not yet have the T-Sport but there have been rumours that it will eventually becoming in 2003. The engine will be based on the current model Celica around 180bhp. Is that the specification in the European model?

Hi there,

The Corolla in Euro spec is 192bhp, the same as the Tsport Celica. In Japan it is nearer 210bhp (emmisions laws are stricter in Europe), but what ever power yours makes you will be able to tune it!!!!!

Posted

so what's the standard spec for the Corolla T-Sport?

Posted

Hi there,

The standard spec depends on the emmisions in your country. Japan and Asian are relaxed, European are alittle stricter and the Usa are the strictest. I don't know which Australia is likely to be under.

In Australia, it is between the Asian and European countries. The problem is that the highest petrol octane number 98 whereas in the Japan the number is over 100.....

So the most probable bhp for the Australian version of T-Sport would be around 180 or 190 bhp.........

Corolla T sport has the same 2ZZ-GE engine as Celica T sport (quoted in Europe to produce 141 kW/192 Hp @ 7800 RPM). Toyota in Australia quotes Celica engine to produce 140KW.

Hi all,

there are two versions of the Celica in Europe, the vvtli which produces 192bhp and the normal vvt which produces 140bhp (the 140bhp engine is a different engine) the difference between the celica and corolla is the gearing and the ecu mapping, making the celica alittle quicker.

it is not the gearing or ecu - but the fact that Celica is lighter than Corolla...

And it is the same VVTL-i engine as Celica, so if Celica there has 180 HP then Corolla TS will have 180 HP as well

Is NOT The gearing nor ecu, because they are both THE SAME!

It's just that the celica weights nearly 283 pounds less than the Corolla T Sport!

anyone here knows about how much horsepower I can gain from removing the catalytic Converter???

Both Celica & Corolla T-sport's in UK are quoted as 189bhp
