Bluetooth Hands-free Kit

Recommended Posts

Has anyone had the bluetooth hands-free kit fitted? I've read through the installation instructions and the user manual and it sounds like a worthwhile investment. Unfortunately the price is a complete unknown and it's quite an involved installation so I'd be looking to have a dealer do the work.

If anyone's had the kit fitted and/or knows the costs involved that would be great.

Cheers,

Thanks Reece, does that price include fitting?? Can't imagine it does since that seems pretty cheap!

I'll have a word with the dealer this afternoon.

on mine it came with the satnav, so no extra cost.

but the quality sucks insofar as the guy on the other end will have poor reception, seems it depends mostly on the position of the mic (blurred sound, very hard to understand). spoke to another guy who has it installed and he confirmed that.

sound quality and other functions in the car are excellent, though.

I brought mine to the dealer today and they have changed the position of the mic. It's now on the A style on the left of me. It's al lot better then what is was before.

Hello, got my bluetooth kit as part of the sat-nav system.

My phone is weird and fussy (HTC Magic) and it works very well indeed and the voice quality is fine.

Microphone is on the steering column top however I have a query. In the manual, a switch on the steering wheel is referred to, this is used to answer the phone whilst driving and, as it complies with the law, you do not have to take your hands off the wheel to activate.

I have no such switch. The only way that I can see to answer an incoming call is to lean over and press the touch screen on the sat-nav. This renders it illegal to use whilst driving.

Any opinions?

Ta.

Hi there, you can set the phone to Auto Answer in the configuration screen so you can keep your hands on the wheel and still take a call.

Not so for dialling back out though

Paulk.
