Surf Interior Light

The interior lights of my 3rd Generation Surf do not work with the rear door (they work with the front doors). I have the swing away wheel carrier and lift up tailgate. The warning light when the door is open works no problem, however the central locking also does not seem to recognise that the door has been opened as it locks itself again after a short delay (does the central locking work of the interior lighting circuit?). Can anyone tell me where the sensor switch is for the rear light - as I believe it must be faulty.

Sorry, i cant answer your question, but i believe my sensor switch on my 96 surf may be faulty too. I have an aftermarket alarm fitted. when pushing the "arm" button, it locks all doors (including the rear), but doesn't arm the rear door.
