Delays With Pearl White?

I visitied a Centre today, who had 2 demos - black & white, plus a blue for a customer and was told that pearl white is a 14 week delay. The customers blue T4 came in 3 days. Anyone else heard any rumours on delays re specs or colours. Interestingly, the blue T4 had a very light grey coloured interior trim rather than the normal darker grey.

My dealer says the same, Pearl White seems to be very popular and not all orders can be matched with the cars that arrived on the first boat, hence the delays.

I ordered Tyrol Silver, and the car arrived 7 days later along with their demo car in Novus Grey.

My dealer has 6 cars in his first allocation, all sold now, I was the last to order and my car is the first to arrive.

They are still waiting for their showroom car, which was planned to be Pearl White.

Orion Blue cars are the only ones that get light grey cloth interiors (brochure page 33).

HI, did the blue car have the light grey interior? If so was the lower dash and glovebox a matching light colour too?

Pearl White is available, even with leather. 2 to 3 weeks wait only.

I was given a rough date of October...which is OK by me, beginning of September would be better but October is fine!

That suggests to me your dealer has sold out his first allocation.

Could well be...

Not helped by the fact that I've picked the probably the most popular spec, in probably the most popular colour.

Anyhow, I think they have given me a worst case, order it from the factory, date.

I'll know more when the lady who does the actual ordering and customer handover gets in touch next week.

Like I said if it turns up in September...well that's the bonus ball! :D

You could always try ringing around some other dealers to see if you could get one sooner. But if you're happy with the date stick with it.

Most dealers have sold their allocation, there will be serious shortages of Prius, particularly on certain colours and specs. If you are thinking of buying one, dont delay, otherwise it might be the end of the year/early next year before you get one

I am not saying you are wrong Parts-King as the dealer may have been incorrect but he had a look on the system for me and said there were about 2 -3 weeks delivery on the system !! he quoted quite a few colours available did not ask about white though

He said its about 8 weeks on a Verso 2-2 Diesel automatic

There is a difference to cars being available and dealers being allowed to order them. Once the dealer has reached their limit that's it even though cars are available. This is to ensure that all dealers get their fair share of cars to sell.

Cars, colours, specs will be available, but as Wooski says, once that dealer has sold his quota, it will be towards the end of the quarter before he knows if he can get any added to his capped allocation. All I'm saying is, if you are thinking of buying a new Prius, do it now and dont procrastinate, you wont have much choice if you leave it for long. As with all new models, some dealers will sell more than others, and some dealers will be quicker off the mark selling their allocation, and others will spread their sales over the allocation period.

Dealers are capped so that everybody has a fair share of sales
