How Would You Carry A Mountain Bike?

On my old Celica I have a tow hitch and my mountain bike sits bery nicely on a tow-bar mounted carrier.

 Do I try and fit a towbar onto the Gen3 Prius to carry the bike in the same way? Expensive?? Or do I hang a clip-on carrier to the tailgate?

Posative comment welcomed.

(Don't want to put it inside as it gets very wet and muddy after a trip out, so needs to stay outside the car).

You can't fit any kind of tow hitch to a Prius apparently. It will have to be a roof rack and carrier.

Thanks for the link - what a pity.

Looks like I will have to spend my money in Halfords to get the bike loaded:o

Check out this on Priuschat

It's called a curt hitch and is for the 2010 Prius and is about half way down the post.

I didn't want to post pictures direct here as they are not my pictures to "borrow" ;)

Be interesting if you can get it fitted to a UK car B)
