If you have a two post lift and are pretty good with spanners you stand a chance,if you're doing it on the floor, forget it,sometimes it's worth paying someone to do it for you who knows what they're doing, dont forget you can change it for a solid mass flywheel,I had to get that one in Anchorman, lol

There is a member on her who has done this (name escapes me though) he has done it him self... As mentioned it's not for the faint hearted and will be a two person job... Hemi is the KING of the solid DMF's side of things :driving: .. and when Anchorman stops playing trains he'll give the side of the DMF....

I'm open minded about solid flywheels, I just think it will take some time to validate the long term affects. Put it this way, if I was fixing one I would fit another DMF at the moment. I may change that opinion with enough evidence that solids are OK.

We still don't know how 4.3's fair with DMF's???

Hi folks yes it was me.

I found no major problems as long as you take your time.

I set up on axle stands and a cross beam to hold the front up about the hight of car ramps.

I made my own engine bar from a sturdy peice of 2 by 4. Got lots of advice from Anchorman. Many thanks. That was last Novemebr in the very cold on my drive so took it slowly. You will find a trolly jack and small block and tackle very useful.

Quite happy to give more info if you want it. I reckon I saved about £1k in all as I did my timeing belt at the same time.

Don't waste time just doing the flywheel. Do the clutch as well cos you've got to get it out anyway.

Mines still going well 20k on. just developed a possible intermittent turbo fault though.

Forgot to say. The Haynes Manual is only of limited help. Anchorman's stuff was much better. I was hoping to write it up but unfortuantley I've lost the pikkies I took as the camera brok with them on. Couldn't retrieve them.
