Hi All,
I have been watching this forum for a while.
Firstly i would like to say that the IQ is a fantastic car. I bought mine in March 2009,i have the standard model in Black Mannual Trim,i have had no problems with the car as mentioned elsewhere on this site. I part exchanged my 2007 Auris TR for it had to go as it had so many problems with it, which were 4 warranty claims in 2 years to be exact, first was lower steering column knocking, 2nd rear Callipers had to be replaced, 3rd was squealing brakes (FRONT) known design fault, 4th was the gear box, 1st & 2nd gear & output shaft and other technical BLA BLA had to be replaced,So it had to go!

The IQ was in effect the last chance saloon for Toyota  I've done 3,700 miles so far and i get an average of 54-55mpg, this is very good as the Auris only managed 30-32mpg and on a long run the Auris only managed low 40's mpg!

On the 2-10/8/09, my wife and I are planning another trip to see our friends in Germany in a small town called Aschendorf, we've been there 4 times in the Auris and this will be our 5th trip and the first in the IQ, it's a round trip of about 1,000 miles, it will be from Northampton via Dover-Dunkerque, then North through France,Belgium,Holland then North-west Germany to Aschendorf.

Also, if anyone does plan a meet, i would be up for that too, I've only seen 3 other IQ's around my part of the UK, 2 white 1 Black, i wonder how many i will see while i'm in Euro-land...hehehe :D

How far have you been or would you go in yours????????????

I will post some pictures on my return also :)

I think here its just another way of separating us from our money lol because we are a small island compared to the rest of mainland europe which has more sales competition so you get looked after more to get more toyota sales etc...

Hi all,we just returned from our trip to germany and all the people we went to see also think the IQ is a cool/crazy little car B)

Firstly the amount of looks we got in ALL the countries we passed through were crazy,i'm surprised we weren't the cause of any accidents, not only were the passengers straining their necks to see us racing down the motorway but so were the solo drivers  i was like "you ain't seen english ppl before"

The IQ is just as competent on the motorways of europe as it is on our own city streets :D .

Our total mileage for the trip was 1187miles(1910kms)& the overall fuel usage was a respectable 56.2 mpg (5.03l/100km) total fuel perchased was 96 litres. We also managed to achieve the elusive 60mpg on our way to gemany but at a price which was having to cruise at 68-70 mph (110-112 kph) which kept the engine at 3000rpm.

The total travelling time was around 11hrs to germany & 10 hrs on our return to northampton.

On the whole trip we only saw one other IQ in a supermarket car park which was in a town called papenburg in germany,so where are all these iq's hiding, i wonder  i did manage to take a few pic's, here they are below (the toyota dealership was also in papenburg)as aschendorf is only a small village  .......
