K&n 57i Induction Kit

Me & TiQ TaQ off to K&N headquarters for two days next week to get the 1st ever 57i induction kit in the world made & fitted. I offered them the car as a guinea pig & I get the kit FOC. Result.

i totally envy this, ive got an iq2 and im really scared of messing up the insurance cuz its my first car and what been driving for 3 months but yeah it would be very cool if u got the kit!

It is a direct air intake, it makes some nicer and little bigger motor sound. very little motor preformance and little differnce of mpg

It's a little more, "just" a sport filter goes in the toyota air filter box (or whatever you call it), and an air intake is like this one that i am actually selling (fits on yaris ts) :

It's the metal part, the filter and all pieces to make it fit in the engine. It gets more air and when it is well located it gets more fresh air.

This example has a small mettalic part, it usually take the filter under the car to get fresh air.

Any thoughts for an (around) price?

Most of them start at about £80 up to about £150 so not sure.

They are also supplying a courtesy car to me while she is there. Gonna be like a kid christmas eve night before I have to go collect it. I love K&N, had them on nearly all my cars. I also tried BMC but they not making anything yet for our cars yet. Had final measurements for exhaust too other day so that should be on by Spetember I hope.

Whys it taking so long for the exhaust? Mine took them 30 mins to get measurements, a day to price it up and get back to me, then another couple of days to order in the parts and then a day to fit! Had to go back for another day to get the silencer fitted and backbox adjusted but that was no biggie

It is not them taking so long it is me. It took us 30 mins with her on ramps to decide where I wanted it as per previous post, then 2 mins to get price as I worked there ;) all the parts in stock (chose the two tailpipes while there) & it will be done while I wait in about two hours. Just that I decided to get induction on first & popped back to R-Tec yesterday http://www.rtecshop.com/

to make sure where it was exiting either side of valance, thats all. No hold up just overtime & was waiting for exact date from K&N. :)

any news from k&n? iv looked at the website and now they do have the toyota iq in the menu just no product :(...im really excited to hear news as i genuinely want my iq2 to be faster than the waste of money that is the iq3...(still a nice car though)

really cool ur gettin it done but i spke to a few people who know ther stuff..and without a really accesible place for air to go in...as the grill on the iq is tiny...the danger is it'l only suck in warm air...unless k&n have worked around this hopefully (Y) gooood luck!

Well I would hope they will have worked it out as it really would not be worth making a 57i kit if it did not do as it says on the tin. I suppose that is the whole point of them having my car for two days to have a guinea pig. The worst outcome is I still get a filter if not a 57i kit. :)

Dont be jealous it will be available very soon. Always worth ringing companies to see if they need development cars. I have my name on 4 other companies lists also as first offer including Superchips. Just a cool way of being first with something & not paying anything

Anyone could have beaten me to it if they had rang them.

how did you get on superchips list? I contacted them about 4 weeks ago and they said they would most likely not touch the iq due to the different programming technique needed compared to most cars. When did you contact them?

They do indeed have issues with Japanese cars but they said that does not mean ALL models so they may look at mine to see if can be done.
