I decided to do a couple of quick interior mods to my Aygo:

First of all I decided to install a glove box lid. This was something I thought about a long time ago but decided against it however, when I took my Aygo to be serviced a few months ago the courtesy car they gave me had one fitted and I was surprised how much better it made the interior look, so I popped down to Mr T yesterday and picked one up for the grand sum of £27.45. I fitted it today in about 5 minutes and am yet again amazed at how it transforms the interior of the car, it’s also good to have somewhere apart from the boot to hide things away from prying eyes!

I also decided to do something about my iPhone holder as I was using a Griffin TuneFlex so I could listen to the music on my phone through the standard head unit in the car, however, after 18 months of using it daily the weight of it was beginning to pull the 12V socket out its housing.

So I decided to install a Brodit proclip next to the radio head unit (pics below) it didn’t cost too much £13.69 for the mount and £18.60 for the actual iPhone holder from www.gpsforless.co.uk. It took about 10 minutes to install and as you don’t need to drill holes no damage done to the car and can be easily removed.

It is much easier now changing music tracks whilst driving and as the aux lead goes into the headphone jack if anyone calls whilst you’re in the car their voice comes through the car Speakers so all you need to do is speak a little bit louder than you would if you had the phone to your ear and you’ve got a perfect hands-free kit.

However the biggest bonus so far is it works really well with the Navigon Mobile Navigator app you can buy from iTunes which gives you a proper sat nav system on your iPhone with turn by turn directions and a decent map clearly showing your route (pics below) and once again just as long as you have the aux lead in the headphone socket sat nav woman’s voice comes out through the car Speakers!

So I now have a new found appreciation for not only my Aygo but also my iPhone as I can’t think of another way of having thousands of music tracks to choose from, a hands-free kit and a proper sat nav system all in one little unit!

Sorry about the quality of the pictures but it gives you a decent idea what I’m on about.

Daniel

Hi there

I'm really liking your iPhone mod. Very nice. :) They really are top bits of kit, aren't they?.

I've only just got around to installing my "proper" hands free kit on Saturday (have been using one of the visor mounted ones up to now - acceptable, but nowhere near as good as a hard wired affair). New one is superb :)
