Auris Headlining Cracking Sound !?

Hi

One thing that has been annoying me for a while with my Auris is when driving I hear a cracking/popping sound that appears to

be coming from above both the driver and passenger doors.

It seems to be caused by the headlining or the rubber that contacts the door.

Anyone else had this issue, I told the dealer about it and he heard it, but said its a big job to change the headlining and has done sweet FA about

getting it booked in and sorted out, probarly because I didn't buy it from them.

Cheers

Andy

Hello Andy!

Haven't ever had that issue and am really sorry to hear about your problem, I know how annoying those sounds can be... You should just pressure that dealer as it's his job to get it done. No matter how expensive will it be and no matter where you bought the car! If it's not working properly and they admit it, there's no other options than a repair!

Best regards, Alex

Hi Andy

I too have a similar sound that I have written about on here before. It's a wobbling sort of sound and is not metalic. I thought it was coming from the drivers B pillar where the seat belt enters and even went to the extreme of stuffing a piece of rag inside the trim to see if it would stop. Well that hasn't stopped it and I'm now wondering if it is the curtain airbag that is wobbling about. I notice it more when going over bumps in the road and turning left. Maybe I should see if stuffing a piece of rag inside the roof lining against the airbag would stop it... but that would only be temporary (for safety sake) just to find out if the noise/rattle/wobble was cured.

I would be interested if you discover a cure for your cracking/popping sound.
