Emotional Car Connection :-)

Found an interesting article about cars and emotions "The power of emotion in the car you buy":

http://www.nationmultimedia.com/worldhotne...the-car-you-buy

I found out that the German study they mention is now available in English.

Here´s the link to participate:

The most insightful question in my opinion was: "Which car would you never want to buy"...

Interesting article, but absolute tosh.

User value and functionality usually play hardly any role at all. "The goal is to create a consistent picture of oneself," says the behavioural scientist. The car's image should in some way transfer to the person who drives it.

Having had 9 Toyotas previously, I really didn't actually want a modern BMW, (my old 80s 635CSi was different, that was a "cool" BMW) infact after thinking long and hard about what car to get I was running out of options..

In the end by process of elimination I narrowed my choice down to a couple but wasn't entirely pleased, the only car that checked every box perfectly and did everything I was looking for within my budget(ish) was the M3. The ONLY thing that put me off getting it at first was the Badge and image. - Although I later decided if something does everything I want "having a bad image" isn't a real tangeable reason not to buy it, and I pity anyone who is so shallow that they choose a car on brand image alone!
