Help/advice Please On A Few Bits And Pieces...

Toyota Avensis 1.8 GLS VVTi (Sept 2000).

Rather than start seperate threads for each question I had, thought I'd lump them together...

Have a rather larger stone chip, with a tiny hole through the centre of it, on my nearside front headlight. Wondered how easy this would be to replace and am I likely to pick one up from anywhere other than a breakers yard without it costing the earth?

Same question for my drivers side fod light (cracked!) that needs replacing.

I'm thinking of replacing the full set of tyres and wondered what you peeps would recommend for hard wearing and good grip as I do a lot of mileage. So far have been given a price of £61.08 per tyre for Michelin Energy 195/60/R15 H from Costco's which includes supply, fit and balancing. Seemed reasonable.

Is it likely my factory fitted CD player will have a line input for plugging in my Apple iPod? How easy is it to remove it in order to connect something up to it?

Thinking of changing the standard factory front Speakers (front mid range and tweeters mainly). what sizes do I need and any recommendations?

My present Wiper Blades seem to judder across the screen rather than a smooth action even when it's raining sufficiently to wet the whole screen. Is this usually a tell-tale sign that they need to be replaced? Which ones do you guys recommend as the best? Bosch? Seen some on eBay by company called RainTech (said to be as good as Bosch) for £7.70 incl shipping. Anyone have these or had any experience with them?

Lastly, my car was only supplied with one master key. Is it likely that different Toyota garages would quote different prices for a supply of a second key? I found this whenever phoning around different BMW dealers!

Many thanks in advance.

Cheekster.

For tyres you won't go wrong with the Michelins..i've done over 80k n theres still tread on my rear... and i don't hang around!

I've got 6" pioneer Speakers up front, would've gone upto 6.5" but there just too deep... infinity do some good ones to. I have the Kappa 6x9s, well recommended.

Bosch do good wipers, you might want to consider PIAA...

Sorry I couldn't be of more help...

Deffo Bosch Wiper Blades. I have two Michelin Energy on at the min and they are fine if not a bit hard on the ride quality. I also have two Dunlop SP Sport which are much quieter and smoother but wear a lot faster. Think i'm gonna go for Michelin Pilot when I change next.

Very likely asz all the dealers are franchises and although they have Recommended Retail Prices, they can charge what they want!
