Hi all,

This is not a direct celica related problem, but due to my celica being up for sale, i had to buy a wee run-a-round, I ended up going for a 51 plate polo, its a 1litre, very good service history, major service 30K ago etc, everything was in excellent condition, i asked all the questions "is there anythiing that you know of that is wrong with this car" etc, we took it on a 30min road test, ran smooth as a nut, the next day we handed over the cash drove it for about 30-40mins and the managment light came on. I know this could be a really simple cheap thing to fix or very expensive, I phoned the person whom i bought it from who then said, yes this happend a couple of years ago, we serviced it and it never came on since, so i said i will get it put on the diagnostic computer at my local garage and get back to you, do i have anything from trading standards in my favour?

cheers

Hi mate

If it's a private sale it's sold as seen, NOTHING YOU CAN DO ABOUT IT.

no im afraid because it is a privite sale. however if the owner is nice im sure they may be able to give you info and maybe a small amout towards a repair but they dont have to by law.
