Power Folding Mirrors Issue...

Hi,

Just wondering if anyone has ever had any problems with power folding mirrors?

On my car, I have the option to push a button and it folds the mirrors in when I'm parked so that it's harder for someone to break them as they walk/drive to close to my car. I always close them when I get out to try and stop this, as I've lost more than one wing mirror to people getting to close, anyway, the problem arises when I open them now, as the offside motor doesn't stop whirring as though it's still trying to open the mirror even though it is open all the way.

Obv. I can't leave it like this, otherwise the motor will burn out, which is undesireable to say the least, just wondering if anyone knew of this issue and any way to fix it??

If I don't have any solutions by tomorrow morning, it's no biggie, I'll pop it in to the local garage and get them to sort it... it was more the "I can't drive it tonight" factor that's agitating me, as I'm off out shortly, and I do so love my little Yaris :S (albeit in it's Vitz RS form, as it's Japanese)

Cheers for any advice,

Dan

Sorry can't seem to help here as the Yaris sold in Europe don't have this feature so not seen it before, but lucky you having power door mirrors, I wish they would fit them to our models!

From the ones that I've seen when I was back home in the UK, they would actually be easy enough to fit, as all of the wiring loom is there to begin with anyway, it's just getting the actual units. I'm sure they could be ordered through Toyota.

Still no solution for me at the moment though, I've managed to wedge the button so that they stop open enough to drive the car without the motor going constantly, as the garage couldn't fit me in this morning, but it's annoying and needs to be fixed, because the age old technicians fix of a bit of blue tac on the dashboard does not look pretty!!! grrrr!!! Must. Fix. Power. Mirrors!
