Hi there, i suppose you could fit it near the Battery somewhere, like on the inner wing or wherever's there's space.

Does it connect to the Battery in some way?

What exactly does it do? Can't say i've ever seen one before or heard of them! :)

[hey

its ment to be connected to the vacuum tube that goes straight to the manifold..

it sends cold air at a higher pressure into the engine giving a better combustion

there's no electric wiring at all :-)

I can see it working on an old style carburettor system, where the mixture might be a bit rich and the extra air might allow any unburned fuel to be burned (releasing more power), but on a modern engine, the amount of fuel is carefully measured and injected in to match the air going past the air mass meter and the sensors in the exhaust downpipe adjust the mixture to ensure that there is no unburned fuel coming out of the engine (as that would ruin the catalytic convertor), so I fear that on a modern fuel injected engine, with a catalytic converter, its not actually going to make any difference.

(In fact it might actually make the engine run weak, as the air it injects isn't being measured by the air mass sensor in the intake - and that might actually cause damage to valves....)

Interested to see what others think....

Oh and I've just thought - the vacuum tube uses the vacuum in the inlet manifold to power the brakes - if you put pressurised air into that pipe, you might actually lose or lessen your braking servo power......

well i didn't put it on the brake tube but rather on the one that comes off from where the air intake is... i'll up load a picture...what happens is that if lets say i lower the incoming air pressure the, engine idles on really low rpm in an unsteady way where as if i put it up, i get a better idle, well higher (about 1200 rpm) and a much smoother acceleration. But then with a smoother running my car uses nearly 2 times as much petrol as usual but u can feel a change in torque. talking about the catalytic convertor.....got none....took the thing out...i've got a better performance and a better sound :P . only thing is that i've got the engine check light on the dashboard coming up as soon as i go above 5500 rpm... got a clue why ??

Yes - the check light's come on because the engine sensors have detected that the mixture is all wrong and assumes that you have a fault.....

If its running rich and dumping unburned fuel into the exhaust, its going to wreck the catalytic convertor....

i agree but i have no catalytic convertor on this car... took it off a while ago ...

so d'u reckon the engine check light is nothing to worry about ?
