Carpet Mats

Just ordered a new Prius and the salesman added £75 to the total cost for custom carpet mats. I declined the 'offer' as I thought standard carpets mats always came with a new vehicle. (I got them included with my gen2 Prius at no extra charge).

If you've bought a new Prius......

Did you get any carpet mats?

Were they included at no extra charge?

Did you pay extra? How much? and were htey any different than standard mats?

The Prius brochure doesn't seem to list them on the spec other than on the accesorries page.

My mats cost me £60.

The driver's mat has "PRIUS" on it and is secured by 2 hooks.

They are slightly darker than the carpets.

I got them included in my gen 2 Prius. Do the gen 2 Prius mats fit the gen 3 Prius? If the do, remove them before part ex. or haggle with the salesman for a new set of mats in the deal.

I asked them to specifically "throw in" the carpet mats as part of the deal which they agreed. It is not a free option as stated in the brochure (as an accessory)

It’s all down to your negotiating skills! Just before you shake hands on a deal you throw in the old Mats/Flaps and fuel line to seal it ;)

I love the haggle with the salesmen, it’s all done in good nature but if I’m buying a new car I want some freebies thrown in. Not so fussed with the mud flaps, I’d prefer scuff plates if they weren’t a standard fit but mats and fuel is a must have haggle!

got the mats and muds thrown in to seal the deal, if you don't ask you don,t get!..... forgot the fuel line though!
