Celica Advice

Hi everyone...

I've wanted a Celica for years, just not had the opportunity until now

Looking to get one from X reg upwards

Been looking at the differences in 140 and 190 bhp celica's

I've had a test drive in both

The 140 test drive was in the countryside, so lots of long straights and bends

The 190 test drive was in the middle of a heavily populated town - so couldnt really feel the full power

190 celica's are a lot harder to come by at my price range (3-4k, maybe a bit more if the car it's a really good deal)

I've read that the extra 50bhp only comes into play once you hit 6000rpm

And that the 190 is better for mpg in general

Looking for one with full leathers and climate control.

Is it worth paying the extra for the 190bhp, or should I just settle for the 140bhp as that still packs a mighty punch!

Can anyone advise please?

Been looking at autotrader.co.uk, eBay, and pistonheads.co.uk for a couple of weeks now

Want to get it as soon as possible, as my current car (a civic) will need some work doing to it sooner or later, and I wanna get rid of it quickly

Thanks

if you enjoyed 140 get the 140 if you thought it lacked a bit get the 190 , personally i'd get a gen 5 gt4 but thats just me , I think that'll be my next celica to buy , but I'm keeping my gen 6 gt

The Gen 7 to avoid (oil consumption issue) is the pre face lift 140. With your budget, you'll be struggling to find a face lift 140 especially with the Premium Pack, so a 190 might be the best bet. All the UK registered 190's have the P/P (Leather/Sunroof/Climate), but they are noisier and thirstier than a 140 with an insurance group of 15.

HTH :)

i'd get the 190, it is exactly the same as the 140 to drive untill you hit lift which is usually when you need the extra power.
